# Capsus

Capsus is an independent, free creative canvas and monthly time capsule. Your canvases, imported media and voice notes are saved in your browser, without an account or automatic cloud sync.

## Local creation

- Compose photos, notes, drawings and audio on an infinite canvas.
- Seal monthly editions in The Vault. Sealing makes an edition read-only in Capsus; it does not encrypt its content.
- Export high-resolution PNG or unencrypted `.capsus` ZIP copies. Copies may include original media, editing data and readable notes and links. Review them before sharing.
- Work offline once the required app resources are loaded and cached. Resources not yet available and online features require a connection.

## Network features

Link cards send the requested URL to the Capsus API, which queries the page, platforms or metadata intermediaries. Remote images may pass through a Capsus proxy. Fonts, thumbnails and videos may contact external providers; direct browser connections disclose IP and technical request data to those providers.

Optional phone transfer uses online signaling and temporary Redis session storage in production. Selected photos travel directly between devices over an encrypted WebRTC data channel, without STUN or TURN servers. The signaling server does not store or relay photos. The QR expires after three minutes; devices usually need the same reachable network.

APIs process technical connection data, including IP-derived request limits, for operation and abuse prevention. This is distinct from behavioral analytics, which Capsus does not integrate.

## Storage and care

Canvases and media use IndexedDB. Preferences and inbox data also use localStorage. Site resources and the optional local AI cutout model use browser caches. The model analyzes photos on the device after download.

Local storage and exports are not encrypted by Capsus. Clearing browser data can erase your work. Make regular backups; clearing the site does not delete downloaded files.
